I've searched through both Tutorial and Help forums for answers, but still have not been able to find a working solution for external access to my subsonic account. My port number specified in the Subsonic control panel is 80 and I have donated to establish an easy-to-remember subsonic.org address.
I have an AT&T 2701HG-B router without UPnP support, so I have manually forwarded port 80 for both TCP and UDP with default protocol timeout values. The same ports are open via Windows Firewall settings and I have allowed access for both Subsonic Agent and Service (I am sadly using Vista Ultimate 32-bit). I don't see what step is causing a problem and hindering external access. I get the following message under the settings>network interface:
Status: ______.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)
Accessing http://______.subsonic.org:80/ and http://[current public IP]:80/ result in a similar error message.
Am I making a glaring error or missing any steps? I thought I diligently followed directions from other posts and it's perplexing why none of the suggestions fix the issue for me, even though they seem to help that particular post's OP.
Any idea what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.
