Initial setup

Hi,trying to connect an iphone using z-subsonic, but keep getting this message 'unable to connect to subsonic server please ensure that you have an active internet connection and that your server setting is correct'
Have tried using http://myusername.subsonic.org, and alsothe ip address of my laptop and have tested the subsonic address on the website and got this message'Status: colkurtz.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)
Please help .Thanks.
