4.0 kills port forwarding?

I might be losing my mind here or just completely overlooking something simple. I just upgraded from 3.9 to 4.0. I haven't changed ANYTHING whatsoever as far as ports. In my router i have the public port as 10995 and the private port as 80 pointing to 192.168.0.50 (static). In the subsonic network settings, "automatically configure your router..." was checked as well as "access your server...". This was all working correctly before installing 4.0. Now i can't even access subsonic remotely. internal works fine though. whenever i test the connection i get the message "you must forward port 80 to the computer running the server" and "failed to create port forwarding to port 80". like i said, i haven't changed anything after the install. what am i missing? thanks for the help

You're not losing your mind :-)

I decided to remove the option of having different public and private ports in version 4.0, as this was too confusing to the average user.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

ah, i see. i must not have seen that in the changelog or anything. so subsonic will now run on any port as long as both public and private are the same? thanks for clearing that up!

Yeah, that's the idea.

i still must be missing something here. i decided to go with port 10995 (public and private) which is forwarded to 192.168.0.50 (static) in my router. i changed the port in the subsonic control panel to 10995 as well. restarted service but i'm still getting the "failed to create port forwarding..." in settings>network. my server responded successfully though. any ideas? i apologize for the headache :D

If you set up port forwarding manually you don't have to enable the automatic port forwarding in Settings > Network. Just disable it.

Cheers

update:

out of curiosity i tried the android app and it connected to my server. streamed music no problem. only thing i can't do now is log in remotely using my ddns. port forwarding is disabled like you advised. any ideas? i tried both https://ddns.subsonic.org and http://ddns.subsonic.org:10995. neither worked for me.
