Reverse Proxy settings om apache2 gives error using deb inst

Postby primary » Tue May 18, 2010 12:43 pm

Hi,
I've installed a Ubuntu 10 server to run Subsonic.

I've been using the WAR install and tomcat, this has been working great.
I've been able to to use a reverse proxy setting that reroute
http://domain:port/subsonic/ to http://domain/subsonic/
This workes great and this is the way I would like to have it.

Using the deb installer web server is directed to only use port number and no /subsonic/

Open the Subsonic web page on http://localhost:4040 as stated on subsonic.org workes great.

Trying to setup reverse proxy just gives me errors. Any one successfully made reverse proxy work using deb installer?

proxy settings:

ProxyRequests Off
ProxyPreserveHost On
<Proxy *>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Proxy>
ProxyPass /subsonic/ http://domain:port/subsonic/
ProxyPassReverse /subsonic/ http://domain:port/subsonic/

I've tried to remove /subsonic/ only using domain:port but still no luck.

Pleas help :)

Solution was to configure a new virtual server on apache, and point the server name to /var/subsonic and make a proxy redirect to internal server IP and port.

DocumentRoot "/var/subsonic"
ServerName subsonic.domain.com
ServerAlias subsonic*
ServerAlias www.subsonic*
<Directory "/var/subsonic">
allow from all
Options +Indexes
</Directory>
ProxyRequests Off
ProxyPreserveHost On
<Proxy *>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Proxy>
ProxyPass / http://internalIP:8080/

( I've changed the port from default 4040 to 8080 )
