Changing default cover art name from cover > folder.jpg?

While Subsonic's got no issue whether or not the album art is named cover.jpg, folder.jpg, or *.jpg for that matter, Tag & Rename gets picky when the file's not explicitly titled folder.jpg.

Are there any files I can modify on my end to have Subsonic, upon retrieving new cover art for an album, rename that file folder.jpg instead of cover.jpg?

I'd really like to know this as well in case someone has an answer. I searched the forums but couldn't find another reference to this issue...

Accepted cover art names are listed in the Subsonic settings. On your Subsonic server go to Settings > General and look at "Cover art mask".

On my server, it is set to the following:
Code: Select all
folder.jpg cover.jpg .jpg .jpeg .gif .png

However, when my server downloads files it also entitles them cover.jpg. Maybe if you take it out of the masks it will stop doing that? I'm not sure.

One possible solution would be to set up a cron job or other scheduled task if you're not on linux, to find and rename cover.jpg to folder.jpg in music folders.

Cheers,
Kirk

Removing cover.jpg from the mask does not change how the art is saved.

you should modify the servlet.

how? I've looked through the xml file and did not see anything referencing 'cover' in regards to a file name variable.

I'm guessing the setting is in CoverArtController.class... But this would be great to have as a configurable option under settings. Helps for users such as myself using multiple applications with different display capacities to access the same media folders (so that one can have a "subsonic.jpg" image saved alongside folder.jpg, and have Subsonic display the former and not the latter).
