Odd android problem

I have a slightly odd problem with the android app. I can use it remotely, whether thru wifi or 3g, and it works great. The web interface works fine on any other computer as well.

The only problem is when I'm on the same local network as the server, when it wont work at all. I get an error saying it cannot find the server on 127.0.0.1:4040. I thought it should be looking for the local IP, x.x.x.64:4040, but its not and there's no way to change the setting.

If its a router problem Id like to have an idea about the problem first. My router is unfathomable at times and I dont like poking around unless Im clear what Im doing first.

I'm running Linux Mint for the server, subsonic android app on a HTC desire running android 2.1

I know this isnt a massive issue as the only time I want to stream to my phone on my house is to play music in the kitchen, but would be good to get it sorted all the same.

thanks all for any ideas

You can not connect to your External IP from within your internal network.

Correct, or if you have your own DNS server you could just add your own forward lookup (which is how I do it)
