Album art size for Android app

I have images embedded into my ID3 tags and I'm trying to find out what the optimum size to set them that will display on the Android app. Even 500x500 seems too large, as it cuts off sections at the top or bottom.

Is there a way to get the android app to only display the embedded art and let the web interface display a folder.jpg?

My example is that my scanner does a high resolution of 1600 or so and I like to be able to view the full art sometimes. But this is too big for the app, which is why I need to make them smaller. Is there a way to do this?

Does this make sense to anyone? Thanks.

Surely someone at least knows what the default size is that the app displays?

My phone seems to resize any image. It hasn't mattered.

Same here, I have all my album art embedded because I was sick of WMP and others messing up the folder.jpg. I also had a lot of folders with multiple albums and multiple album art, so WMP had no idea what to do

I can see this thread was a waste. I resized all my album art, but it still gets cut off a little bit in the app. Guess I'll just live with it.

The cover art will be scaled (on the server side) to exactly fit the width of your phone. Depending on your screen dimensions, the top/bottom of the image might be cropped.

So it doesn't matter what size the original ID3/folder.jpg is; it will always be scaled to fit.

Everything's fine. I just wanted to find out if I was doing something wrong. Thanks.
