Cover Art Customization

I am having issues with the Cover Art, tho I assume this is what is is supposed to do.
All the album art gets resized to be shown in subsonic, this makes sense, but what I do not like is that is does not keep its original aspect ratio. quite a few of my cover arts are squished looking, and just look horrible.
I was wondering if it was possible to change it so that it resized, but kept the same aspect ratio or cropped, anything other then squishing it.
I am moderately knowledgeable about coding and html, is it their is some template file that can be edited to change the subsonic interface I can probably do it if that is the only way, but it looks like everything is within the program file.
