MPC Transcoding error

Hello, I am running the latest version of subsonic on freenas 0.7.
Everythinks works fine except transcoding of mpc files :
I put the mppdec under /var/subsonic/transcode, set mppdec %s - in step1 and lame -b %b - -in step2 in the transcoding settings section.

When I try to play an mpc files, it plays then stops after 2 seconds...
I can see this in the log file :

Can you test if your transcoders are capable of working without subsonic.

Try the following command (all one line):

/var/subsonic/transcode/mppdec '/mnt/music2/L/Le Tigre/Le Tigre - Le Tigre/01 - Deceptacon.mpc' - | /var/subsonic/transcode/lame -b 128k - > test.mp3


If this doesn't work (assuming I've typed in everything correctly) then your problem is the transcoding setup.

I don't have the program mppdec on my machine so I can't check if I've got the options correct. Are you sure that mppdec outputs the right type of wav file?

Why aren't you using ffmpeg to decode the mpc file to wav then passing that on to lame?

Hi and thanks for your answer !
I tried the command you gave me and it works, i got a test.mp3 file at 128kb/s.
So I think it's not a transcoding issue, the problem is that when I try to play this file in subsonic, it plays 1 or 2 second then stops... :(
I wasn't using ffmpeg because i didn'it know it was able to decode mpc files !
Any ideas ? Does somebody had the same issue playing mpc files ?

Is there anymore to your log file because there's nothing to indicate that the transcode failed.

Can you see if works if you use ffmpeg instead (see the wiki http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/subsonic/index.php?title=Transcoders)?

Ffmpeg supports every format under the sun! Run

Using ffmpeg, it's the same issue : the song starts playing, then stops after 1 second.

It's definitely an mpc issue, I tried with an ogg file, and it worked perfectly

The issue appears to be using the web player in firefox. It appears to work fine using google chrome.

I've posted a dirty fix here:
