Control Android player with computer

First of all, thanks for a great app!
I'm not sure if this should go in suggestions or here.

What I would like to do is connect my mobile to my sound system, but have all the controls on my computer. I've gotten as far as playing music from my computer in my stereo via the Subsonic android app (brilliant so far) and I can see the android player in the browser interface, but I can't seem to be able to control what it plays from the computer.
Maybe this is possible in the jukebox mode(?), which I haven't managed to get working.

Basically I would like to eliminate the need for separate wireless solutions (like Airport Express or Squeezebox) for transferring music from the computer to the stereo.
