Posted: Mon Jul 19, 2010 9:38 pmI believe that the search feature searches through the index. The index is generated by scanning the tags of the files in the collection.
The list in the left pane of subsonic, however, is simply a list of sub-folders of the music folders.
Unfortunately the tags don't alway match the folder names thus the search may not return results when searching for a folder name.
To check my logic you can click the plus sign [+] by "Oh, The Humanity" on the left. Then, notice what gets added to the play list. If you search for THOSE keywords you should get results.

I had the same problem, could see the artists, but wouldn't return any search results.
Try, >Search>Update Search Index Now
Youre index may not be populated =>No Matches Found
