I am streaming to android... and some of my songs are on 320k, which makes it skip pretty badly

where do i set it to stream at 192kbs max??

I look through advance setting, and I can only find "download limit".. i am assuming that's download speed.. and obviously i don't want to limit it... right??

someone please tell me where to find that setting pls..

thanks

You need version 1.5 of Subsonic for Android to do it on your phone.

On your phone: Subsonic-->Settings-->Network (Max bitrate Wi-Fi/Mobile).

or

Web: Settings-->Users-->Max bitrate

It's a little disappointing that it jumps down from 320 to 160...could we get an in-between like 240? :wink:

My Droid generally can keep up with 320 if I have good 3G service and let it sit and stream a little ahead of where I'm listening before I hit play, 160 is no problem, but seems like 240 would be ideal for best sound quality paired with consistent streaming over 3G. :wink:

I second this. For me, 160 is too low, but 320 is too high. Most of my stuff is around 200kbps average bitrate, so ideally I'd like to set Subsonic to 224kbps so that only the occasional high bitrate track (i.e. 320) gets transcoded.

You can set a limit on the server side too.

In settings > Players. Find your android player and then set the maximum bit-rate (you need to have connected at least once before your player will appear). It be named "android [username]"
