Black Screen in webinterface when hitting "Play"

Hey there,

I am using Firefox (latest) version and have configured one player als "external player with playlist" which is controlled by the web interface of subsonic. I understand that I have to compile a playlist in the web interface of Subsonic, hit "Play" and it'll start my media player (using WinAMP) to load this playlist containing the respective streaming links for the items of my playlist.

However:
When I hit the "Play" link in the browser (just above the playist), the center frame of Subsonic web interface reloads to a big black screen and nothing happens. When I do the same in Internet Explorer it starts "downloading" an .m3u playlist which I can open -> starts Winamp -> plays stuff.

So it seems to be a Firefox related issue, why does the black screen in the center of subsonic web interface occur?

PS: It also happens when choosing "external player" WITHOUT a playlist. So in any "external player" scenario, hitting "Play" brings up a black screen + nothing happens.

It's probably the quicktime plugin trying to play it in the browser.

Your firefox is configured to open .m3u files in the browser using a plugin.

To change this go to edit->preferences->applications

Or in ff 3.6.7:

Tools->Options->Applications

From here you can choose how to handle the m3u file.

yes, that absolutely solved the problem. thanks!
A remark: There was "Ask everytime" set, however I had to manually change that to WinAMP via dropdown and now it works!
