Easy way to see what users downloaded what?

Postby RedDeath » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:42 pm

Hi,

Is there an easy way to see what users logged in when and downloaded what? I know about the log file but I have a huge music collection that refreshes the library every night and it's very difficult to parse the log into a nice readable format.

Does this exist or is there plans to do this in the future? Even total size downloaded by users would be nice but I would prefer to see what... kind of like how FTP server software works...

Thanks much

I think this actually should be in Feature Requests...

Regardless... Subsonic used to do this. Sort of. It saved the amount of data streamed for an entire Subsonic session. But I don't think it was ever easily accessible to the administration on demand.

Parsing the logs shouldn't be a problem. I bet I could write something in PHP to do it. I'm not sure why the size of the log would create a difficulty with parsing it. I wrote a script that parses Halo Custom Edition game server logs in almost real-time and updates a MySQL database. :)

It's not a bad idea. I don't see why it would be too difficult to do...
