Subsonic doesn't play any music

So I've been using Subsonic for a while and 4.0.1 is the first version I've used with the new flash player and it is unable to play anything.

When I click on the play icon next to the song I want, it brings the song down into the playlist (like normal) but it doesn't start the song. When I click on the play button in the flash player, nothing happens (the timer doesn't start counting and the progress bar doesn't move either)

The log simply says "Admin listening to ....." and doesn't report an error and I can click on the progress bar at different parts of the song and the slider will move but it will just stay wherever I click.

Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: Just found out this problem isn't flash specific, I'm trying to use WMP as an external player and it gives me an error saying "reached end of file" on all of my songs...

Check your Subsonic log and paste the relevant sections of it here please.

When I play a song that requires transcoding, my log usually looks like this.

Code: Select all
[8/11/10 10:32:50 AM CDT]     INFO   PlaylistInputStream   Kirk listening to "Good Morning Revival (2007)/06 Victims Of Love.mp3"
[8/11/10 10:32:50 AM CDT]    DEBUG   TranscodeInputStream   Starting transcoder: [/var/subsonic/transcode/lame] [-S] [-h] [-b] [112] [/home/music/Good Charlotte/Good Morning Revival (2007)/06 Victims Of Love.mp3] [-]

I'm guessing the issue might be with transcoding of the songs. You can find the most recent log entries by clicking the Subsonic logo on the upper left of your Subsonic web interface.

Also, have you tried just restarting the Subsonic process? Sometimes that fixes strange issues.

Cheers,
Kirk

This is literally all it says, there is nothing else above or below this entry that relates to this song:

Code: Select all
[8/11/10 11:34:20 AM EDT] INFO PlaylistInputStream admin listening to "Blue Scholars - Oof EP! (2009)\11-Postal.mp3"

I have transcoding turned off and I can't access my computer at the moment otherwise I'd try restarting the process but this has happened before (even after restarts). I have not been able to get Subsonic to work on this particular machine.
