<Solved> "Home" screen will not show albums

From "About" screen:
Version 4.0.1 (build 1524) – May 13, 2010
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_18, Linux (38.0 MB / 51.2 MB)

OS: Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit

I'm running into an issue where when logging in the "home" screen does not show the random albums like it used to. It seems to have stopped out of the blue. All other features seem to be working.

I have uninstalling the package and reinstalling it and I have the same issue.

Any suggestions?

It doesn't look like you're running out of memory, but the upward limit looks rather low to me. I know it's expanded up to the limit as needed, but I'm curious as to what your memory limit is. If it's set to 100MB then upping it to 512MB couldn't hurt, and I think that might resolve your issue...

thanks Kirk,

I have 3GB of RAM, so hopefully that isn't the issue. I will try your suggestion though, thanks.

I just went in to Subsonic to look into the memory thing that Kirk had suggested, and now it works. (didn't make any changes yet though)

:?

This had been happening for several days, and survived reboots and reinstalls, so for it to suddenly work is strange.

I did install updates this morning, one of which was an update to flash, maybe that was the culprit.

Thanks again for your help.

It is also possible that while Subsonic was idle it dumped some cache and freed up memory. If I were you, I would still increase the memory limit.

The Home screen album cover thing isn't flash. I know that for a fact because it is visible on my iPad when I login to Subsonic through Safari. (iPad has no flash support).

Kirk

My apologies for the triple post... I have been unable to get to the forums for the last two days because of the "Service not available" errors... I think the same happened while I was making this post and I refreshed 3 times before I gave up. Lol.

I am also having the problem with the home screen being empty. Either Random Albums or Newest or anything just is blank, except it will show the "more" button, and when I click it it shows "Albums 31 - 60", but no icons show.

I also noticed that the album art does not show on my android phone in the album list anymore either.

For both android and web, if I click on an album the art does show.

My memory limit is 1024, the server is running as a limited user on Windows Server 2008.

Any ideas? I don't see anything helpful in the logs....

PS: It was working when I initially installed it...but then it just stopped working.

OK so I told it to rescan all the folders and now they show in the home screen under random and such.

However, I still have the problem of the android client not showing the icons in the album list. Could it be related to the fact that I can't seem to select the music folder, all music from all folders now seems to be listed in the main list? How do I fix this?
