Stream Subsonic Using iTunes

I'm trying to figure out how to stream from my subsonic site using iTunes. I would just use the web browser, but I have a couple of Apple Air Port Expresses that can be controlled through iTunes. That allows me to control where music is played in my house. I just want iTunes to open up subsonic streams is all.

Does anyone know if this is possible or how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

I don't use iTunes that much... But could it possibly be used as an External player like WinAmp can be?

Thanks for the clue. I didn't setup the external players is all. I did that and now I can stream using iTunes just like Winamp does. Awesome!

Wow, I read your request on Sunday and haven't had time to answer yet! >.<

First you need to set up an External Player in Subsonic. This means one of the players from your Subsonic menu (Player 1, Player 7, whatever) must act differently.

To set up an external player:
- Login to Subsonic and go to Settiings on the top panel.
- Go to "Players" (toward the top)
- You'll most likely want "External Player with Playlist" (I haven't tested it with iTunes so if this behaves oddly try the one without a playlist).
- Save the player, and load a playlist or a few songs into that player.
- Now instead of seeing the Flash player, you'll see the word Play. Click that, save the playlist somewhere temporary, and open the playlist file with iTunes.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!
