Why do files show up in library, but not on playlists?

I have several songs (at least one full album that I've found so far) that show up in my library in Subsonic, but for some reason won't show up in a playlist.

I can play the songs just fine, and have double checked that they are MP3s, so I'm a bit confused. Can anybody help? I'll gladly email a file or two over to see if it happens for anybody else as well.

How do you mean... "won't show up on a playlist"? What happens when you try to add them to a playlist? O.o

When I look for the song, it shows up in the library, but when I add it to a playlist, it doesn't show up. For example, I created a playlist with a few songs that don't show up, and it says the playlist is completely empty.

Most likely a discrepancy between what's listed in the .m3u file of your playlist, and the directory structure of your music collection.

I don't understand what you said? I exported the .m3u playlist from iTunes into subsonic, and didn't change locations or anything of any files?

Anyone?

Are you sure you're properly saving the player contents to a playlist after making your changes? Players (the + sign adds a song to the player) are not permanent. Playlists are permanent. Simply adding a song to the on-screen list will not add it to the playlist unless you save the playlist again. Is it possible that you are making this mistake?

Kirk

That cannot be the case here unfortunately. I am making the playlists in iTunes, and most of the other files show up in the playlist once it's loaded into subsonic.

I have also tried using Windows Media Player to make the playlist.

Hey, thanks for being useless. I have m3u files and they work fine. I'm trying to figure out why only certain songs won't show up in them.
