Trying to Get Running..VortexBox

I am trying to get subsonic running...on my vortexbox.

First off, I cannot seem to get my port forwarding to work, even though I have set up a rule in DSL modem. I have tried DMZ as well, no luck to 4040 and says no router found.

Also, I keep getting that my custom subsonic page is registered, but now time outs? Can anyone help?

Do you know the LAN IP address of the VortexBox? Can you access Subsonic from your internal network by going to http://lan-ip-of-vortexbox:4040/? If so, then it's solely a port forwarding issue and not a problem with anything on the VortexBox.

From the sound of it, your router doesn't support UPnP. You may need to forward port 4040 manually. If you could provide more information about your router, we may be able to assist you.

Kirk

Dead thread I know, but I can access Subsonic via the above suggestion no problem.

In the UPNP section of my router, the port 4040 is listed, but it comes up as 127.0.0.1 rather than the VB's IP address, which is 192.168.5.3, which suggests it's trying to loop back the PC I'm using as a controller for the server rather than port forwarding the Vortexbox's address.

Port 80 where I've set up Subsonic on a laptop lists the IP address of the PC it runs on, which seems correct.
