I can see my xxxxx.subsonic.org from outside my network. I noticed my computer is 192.168.1.4 but when I type in my xxxxx.subsonic.org it uses 192.168.1.10 and will not work.

How is the 4 switching to a 10?

If you're using a router (acting as a gateway) and your IP address is assigned via DHCP then it is possible that when subsonic setup up the automatic port forward (assuming you didn't do it manually) that it pointed your IP address at the time (192.168.1.10) but now maybe you disconnected from the network at some point and now your router's DHCP server has given you a different IP address (192.168.1.10) but the automatic port forward has remained in place.

your xxxx.subsonic.org address does not point to 192.168.1.10 (your local network IP address). It will point the internet IP address of your router. Your router has to decide where to forward traffic which is the purpose of port forwarding as the router knows that if it receives traffic on a particular port it should forward traffic to a particular machine.

Try it run

Code: Select all
nslookup yourdomain.subsonic.org
