Android app only works locally?

Hello all. I need your brains, mine is stumped. I have subsonic running on Mac OSX and seems to work great. Originally I was having issues with the default port originally so I changed to 4444. My wife can connect to it via the web at the subsonic subdomainwithout issue. We can't get the android app to connect when it's not local though. I have tried the physical ip, dyndns, and the subsonic subdomain. All three work fine locally on WiFi but the moment I try 3g or another WiFi network I get the connection problem. Is there an issue with port 4444 and android?

Phones are Moto Droid running 2.2. Thanks!

howto at http://portfoward.com
in android app settings set server address to "http://IPADDRESS:4444/" or "http://subdomain.subsonic.org"

Hi Omega. I have tried all that. It's just weird that it would work over wifi locally bu not using 3g or another network. I may try switiching the port to see if it makes a difference. I saw some threads saying they had success with 9000.

I use these ports 2000,2001,2010, and 2020 just fine on verzion wireless for some apps. have any security or firewall software on your mac, it may need an exception for subsonic and the port your using. I use pc but these links look useful
