How do I install on a remote webspace, such as GoDaddy?

Has anybody installed Subsonic on a remotely hosted webspace provided by an external hosting service, like GoDaddy or 1and1? Assuming this did not violate any Terms of Service for the hosting company, how would I go about doing this? I've been using Subsonic for the past two years on my home server, but am tired of maintaining it.

You would need full java support or root access.
I'd suggest getting a VPS somewhere.

As a side note, even if it were easy\possible to run Subsonic on a third party shared web host like GoDaddy, it would be disrespectful to other clients because Subsonic takes a whole port, and the IP on those servers would be shared. So, your Subsonic server would be running on port 8080 on a lot of people's websites. For this reason, shared web hosts typically don't allow you to bind to outside ports.
