Random display, selection not working

I had to recently move my music from one system to another and install sub-sonic on MintLinux 8. Overall not so bad, but now I find I cannot get random selection to work. Also the "Home" page for a general user does not show any albums like it use to with 4.01.

I do have the latest java install (I did the Sudo apt-get. Subsonic can see the folders, I can manually select music, but I would like to play random music at times and that is not working. Any thoughts as to why?

Is your search index created, and does the Search tool work? It was my impression that the search database is used to make the functions you described work.
