Evening all,
I just upgraded to 4.1 and none of my music now plays (it is all in m4a, but that has never been an issue). Any ideas as to what could be causing this?
Attached are the logs and my settings:

It would appear that LAME is not getting the right kind of input. Would you guys mind pasting your relevant lines from the "Transcoders" Settings panel on Subsonic, so we can see how your transcoding is set up?
Cheers,
Kirk

I couldn't find a fix for this so I downgraded back to 4.0.1 and its working fine again. I won't update until there is a fix for this.

I just wanted to double check that you are using a player that has the transcodings checked in the players page in the settings menu. Subsonic likes to make new players and select them without asking you.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out why my mp3 transcodings to a lower bitrate weren't working and then I realized that the player that I was using didn't have the correct transcodings set up but one of the other players did.

you will need to change your transcoding settings
[code]cbr:
step 1
wmadec -b 16 %s -
step 2
lame -b %b -r - -
or vbr:
step 1
wmadec -b 16 %s -
step 2
lame -v -b %b -r -

what do you mean bu cbr or vbr ?
do I need to create a new transcoding line or do I just change the wma > mp3 line ??
WMA lossless

you will need to change your default WMA > Mp3 settings. I chose vbr (variable bit rate) since the lossless wma format is variable, but I have had no problem with constant bit rate files either.

I upgraded again to 4.2 and changed those settings like you mentioned bpschroder. I tried the vbr and cbr made sure no others were defaulting or enabled for WMA > mp3 and I still didn't get anything to play. Any ideas?

Sounds like you might have a local issue judging from your previous posts if subsonic is not throwing any errors in the log.
Have you tried another computer to access your subsonic setup?
What OS is running your subsonic setup?
Maybe a conflicting or missing support for the formats?
