Subsonic not updating mask for dynamic IPs?

I had to start this thread over as a new topic because this is a very large problem.

I'm not sure if it's something temporary or not but it seems that the Subsonic hosting that we "donate" to keep is not updating the mask they provide to our IP address where we host our music locally. I tested this theory and found that if I entered my IP address as the server in iSub on my iPhone it connected instantly and without issue. If I changed back to MYNAME.subsonic.org it errors out with an XML issue.

How do we get Subsonic to change our IP so the redirection works properly?

This topic is also being discussed here:

This needs some attention of Subsonic support. It's getting more wide-spread and I can't seem to find any support information other than the forum. What's strange is around the same time I donated, my address stopped. Which I believe to be related to my ISP going out for a service or something.

Check the error I am STILL getting. Does anyone have a clue who I can contact to get them to redirect my address to the proper IP?

Hi there,

This is how it works: Your personal Subsonic server contacts the central subsonic.org server every 120 minutes, and the central server updates its redirection entry based on the public IP of your server. So it should work with dynamic IP addresses.

Most likely the error you see is caused by something else (e.g, your ISP blocking incoming traffic to port 80), but please email me your ***.subsonic.org address and I'll take a look at the redirection details.

Thanks,
Sindre
