Please Help, I love this program, made a donation and would really like to get it working. It works fine via network connection but internet connection wont work.
I have a router, port 80 was being used so I Port forwarded 4040. When I go to Subsonic Settings I get,
"Status: Successfully forwarding port 4040."
But under,
"Access your server over the Internet using an easy-to-remember address." I get This Message, "Status: XXXXX.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)"
I have tried everything I can think of including, making exceptions in windows 7 firewall for subsonic, disabling the firewall in windows 7, other ports including 80 after shutting down the other program using it. I am out of ideas and any help would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks

Can you ping 4040 from WAN? What is the result? Also try http://www.canyouseeme.org/
IF it fails, try rebooting your router. PM me your subsonic.org address and I'll attempt to verify/help. :)

If it turns out the port isn't open, there could be a few potential problems. In order to best help us answer your question, your response should answer at least these questions.

- Did you already forward the port manually?
- On Subsonic's networking settings, is UPnP enabled?
- (If you need further assistance) What is the model of your router?

If you need some help forwarding ports, ask here or look up your router on Port Forward.com, they have some pretty useful guides for forwarding ports on most standard routers.

Cheers,
Kirk

Thank you both, I found the problem and you may want to take note, this may be a new one for you. I have a home phone service called Ooma. It installs between the modem and the router. It was blocking the port. So far I havnt looked for a fix I just removed it and Subsonic started working. I will update you if you want, after I have time to look into a fix.
Thanks again

Thanks for reporting back. :) We indeed have a lot of demands on our network connections...it can be a challenge to get them all to coexist and then behave!
