I feel like this can be done but I have yet to find any info after scouring this forum and the web for a while.

Basically I have a forum with a mod which connects to a shoutcast server.

What I'm interesting is it subsonic to relay to the shoutcast/icecast server. Basically have a playlist on subsonic relay to it.

Is this possible? Has anyone here done it before?

The best way I can think of is to use WinAmp as a Shoutcast server, and have it connect to Subsonic as an external player.

Subsonic itself? No. Not that I know of.

Cheers,
Kirk

Kirk,

Do you know if shoutcast can play the playlist the subsonic creates? That might work but I'm not sure if the playlist subsonic makes are unique.

I can install shoutcast on the same server as subsonic.

Winamp/Shoutcast has never had any problems for me with either relative or absolute path m3u's, so it should work! Ensure the m3u is in the same directory or in a parent directory of the mp3 files. What mod are you using, and is this phpBB or vBulletin?

Excellent! What I'm planning is to do is to have like a "general" playlist that the shoutcast runs on. Which only I and some mods can modify. The shoutcast will be connect to the forum mod and will play the song like a radio.

Members will also be able to login to subsonic with their forum account. This part someone on the forum is writing a bridge script for me. I hope it works out. Essentially subsonic becomes a collective collection of songs just for forum members.

FYI I'm using this mod
