Problem downloading certain video podcasts

First of all, thanks for the great application. Keep up the good work!

Along with Subsonic's streaming features, I also use it as a podcatcher to download both audio and video podcasts. There is a problem in particular with downloading video podcasts from CNET (http://podcasts.cnet.com). CNET seems to use Feedburner to handle the feeds. The audio podcasts work just fine, and are downloaded daily or weekly as the case may be. The video podcasts however, generate a "org.apache.http.client.ClientProtocolException" error on the Podcasts page, and checking Subsonic's log shows the following (as an example):

Code: Select all
Failed to download Podcast from http://dw.com.com/redir/cnet_2010-10-07-180248.dl.mp4?destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fcontent.cnettv.com%2Fvideo%2F433448%2Fcnet_2010-10-07-180248.dl.mp4%3FADPARAMS%3DBRAND%3D47%7CSITE%3D53%7CSP%3D181%7CPOS%3D100%7CNCAT%3D6033%3A12578%3A&ontId=14106&siteId=145&edId=3&asid=50094175&pid=&astId=31&ltype=dl_dlnow

I suspect the problem is with the long, complex URL to the download file. It seems there is some URL redirection involved, so that may be the issue. However, entering the URL directly in a web browser successfully downloads the file, and I have also confirmed that the MediaMonkey program can handle the RSS feeds fine. (Note that RSS feed for the above podcast is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/cnet/buzzreport?format=xml)

I should point out that other video podcasts (e.g. from Geekbeat.tv, Revision3) download fine. It would seem that the problem is on CNET's side, so I will probably contact them as well. However, the reason I bring it up here, is that this WAS working correctly at one time. A few months ago, I reinstalled Windows XP, and subsequently Subsonic. Prior to that reinstall, I did have Subsonic downloading several CNET video podcasts sucessfully. I'm not sure what changed when I reinstalled, but I've had problems with CNET ever since (again, video podcasts only).

Is there anything that can be done to fix this problem, other than having CNET or Feedburner change their feed formats?

Thanks in advance,

- zkam
