Hey guys. Ok, background: I am running EVO 4G with android 2.2. and also running my server from my mac 10.6

now the issue:

everything is set up properly, at least i think. I have an enormous music folder where everything is kept, i dont put each band in a folder, with an album inside that, and so forth. ive been keeping a neat mp3 collection for 10+ years and its all song by song, but very organized and labeled

anyways. my folder is /Users/Mike/Music (the default mac music folder) and that is what is listed in my localhost settings on server side, i am linked to it on the phone, because i can see the - few - small folders that i do have... and i can access their contents and play the mp3s / wavs/ whatever file

but i cannot see any mp3 outside of that folder, any song file located in /Music will not show itself.

since there are over 8000 songs, is it just taking a while to "load" or is there an error

any help would be great, thanks!

From my experience with the Android app and Windows server, any MP3s in the root of your chosen directory will not be shown. I only see the subfolders of the root of the share, and I can see any music files in those folders. This is the case for both of my shares, and does not appear to be the behavior of the web interface -- only the Android app.

I can't speak to the iPhone apps, however.

So, yes, the following example appears to be normal behavior:

Share: X:\music
Any FILES in X:\music will not be shown
Any SUBDIRECTORIES in X:\music will be shown
Any FILES IN THE SUBDIRECTORIES of X:\music will be shown

My recommendation would be to change your chosen directory to /Users/Mike then select the "Music" in the app.

weird , i wonder why they do that....i guess i should make /users/mike the music folder, and just open /music from there

or ill have to make a separate folder and movei t all there
