Subsonic Forum

Hi peoples. A friend of me wil install Subsonic at a Debian Server. We used the standalone of subsonic.

The Problems: (We use one of 2 Debian Home Servers with DynDNS Adresse. Teamspeak works too yes).

Configure the subsonic.sh. Thats we do....

-Open Port 8080 in Router
-downloading Subsonic Standalone and copy the files:

subsonic.war
subsonic-booter-jar-with-dependencies.jar
subsonic.bat
subsonic.sh

to folder: var\subsonic

so far so good....

we set at the subsonic.sh follow settings:

SUBSONIC_HOME=/var/subsonic
SUBSONIC_HOST=0.0.0.0
SUBSONIC_PORT=8080
SUBSONIC_CONTEXT_PATH=/subsonic
SUBSONIC_MAX_MEMORY=300
SUBSONIC_PIDFILE=
SUBSONIC_DEFAULT_MUSIC_FOLDER=/var/subsonic/music
SUBSONIC_DEFAULT_PODCAST_FOLDER=/var/subsonic/music/Podcast
SUBSONIC_DEFAULT_PLAYLIST_FOLDER=/var/subsonic/playlists

What the hell is SUBSONIC_HOST ??????? And what i must set? PIDFILE the same...For what is this?

Server is not connectable per localhost and over internet. Nothing!
We become no message that the server is running. Why

I sitting here over 6 hours and test and google and search in forum. Nothing does help

Can anyone help me with a Linux Newbie How To for me?

Java is installed as Version 6.

This comes after: ps -ef|grep java


The subsonic was startet with this: ./subsonic.sh

Is that right? I must Server start as Root or with SFTP?
