Library Summary Disappearances

Postby OlYeller21 » Thu Nov 04, 2010 4:55 am

The summary that appears above the folder accordion list (example below) seems to appear and disappear randomly for me. Restarting Subsonic, refreshing the page, rescanning my library, restarting my computer, restarting my browser (I'm on the host machine), using another browser, using different accounts, and trying other computers on and off of my network seem to have no effect. I doubt it matters but I'm using the Groove theme and have pasted my server info below. When it disappears, it only does so when the page is refreshed and reappears the same way.

Anyone have any ideas?

1,524 artists
4,363 albums
61,229 songs
369.01 GB (~ 5,732 hours)

*Version 4.1 (build 1802) – September 10, 2010
*Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_21, Windows 7 (65.0 MB / 96.7 MB)

Does anyone else ever have this issue or is it just me? It might help me narrow it down a bit.

I don't have this issue, but I do have a smaller library.

2,081 artists
1,625 albums
24,088 songs
162.51 GB (~ 2,524 hours)

Ver. 4.1 on MS Server 2008R2.

Think it might have to do with the library size? I know a Search scan takes about a minute but I'm not sure if there's anything other than that going on that might make it not show up.

I've logged on to larger libraries that idid not have a problem, one is over 500GB.

You might try a stop/start or a reinstall, it's pretty painless.

Also make sure Java is up to date.

Mine comes and goes at different times. I've never noticed a pattern, but there very well may be one. Right now, it's working:

13,357 artists
8,194 albums
87,699 songs
689.23 GB (~ 10,706 hours)

Something I noticed that at first annoyed me until I found the solution.
I don't know if this will help but it's worth a try.

As admin go to Settings >>Music folders and without changing anything click Save.

This refreshed that heading for me. After the daily indexing that heading would not update for me automatically and by accident I discovered this method. It might just "accidentally"
"fix" something :)
