transcode problem FLAC -> mp3 Lame

Postby theseal » Thu Nov 04, 2010 9:16 pm

Version 4.1 (build 1806) – September 10, 2010
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_17, Linux (72.7 MB / 86.2 MB)
LAME 32bits version 3.98.4 (http://www.mp3dev.org/)
FFmpeg version 0.6, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers

when transcoding from FLAC to MP3 the bitrate do not change, but it LOOKS as if is an MP3 file, atleast in the webplayer, and my Isub plyas the file.

I get the following error in the log.

Code: Select all
DEBUG InputStreamReaderThread - (/var/subsonic/transcode/lame) fatal error: can't update LAME-tag frame!

One step transcoding SS 4.1 ("-ar" is a sample rate, "-ab" is a bit rate, "-ac" is a channels (2 for stereo) and "-map_meta_data" transfer all tags from FLAC to MP3):

ffmpeg -i %s -f mp3 -ar 44100 -ab %bk -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

SS 4.2 don't parse correctly %b options and workaround is to use fixed bitrate (change "192k" by your choice):

ffmpeg -i %s -f mp3 -ar 44100 -ab 192k -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -
