Hi all,

i'm a new ad enthusiastic user of Bashee. In my house i've got a tower pc with win 7 (running Subsonic) and a netbook with Ubuntu 10.10.

Now, what i'd like to know is, is there anyway to listen/manage subsonic with Banshee music player?

Thank you for reply,

Luca

Set Banshee as your default music player on your desktop or laptop, then define an external player in settings to call Banshee.

CJ,

thak you for your reply. I've defined an external player in the settings panel of Subsonic.

But...can't you be more specific? What i've got to do when i open Banshee?

Thanks a lot,

Luca

You shouldn't have to do anything. Once you've told Subsonic to use the external player, it should open the default player on your local computer and pass the music to it. Make sure Banshee is the default player.

Once you've defined an external player, make sure you select it from the drop list next to the player in SS.

Isn't ubuntu one music based on subsonic?
As ubuntu one music is already included in banshee, modifying that plugin should be quite easy??

I've had a really poor experience with Banshee for playing Subsonic streams (and it's quite a bloated application). Clementine is a very popular player that handles streams like a champ, but it's still quite bloated in terms of UI. I really like Audacious, it's a super simple and clean music player.
