Hello all,

Because of the problem outlined in this thread:

I have decided to see if the problem would get any better by moving the server to a faster computer on my network. Needless to say...it ain't werkin'.

On the computer that it was working on I had everything set to default values (no changes in the Control Panel) with uPnP making it all play nice.

Now that I've installed the server on the faster computer, it will go into the login page, but nothing I put in will grant me access.


Possibly relevant notes:

I changed the port to 4040 and mapped it to the faster computer because I was getting a conflict error.

The login page is different than the one I set up on the other computer and will not let me log in using the same login as before. I have also tried several different variations of 'admin' + 'admin', 'admin' + 'no password', etc. and still not able to get logged in.

That's about all I can think of...any help would be appreciated.

Is the tray icon showing on the new computer? If so, right click, select Open in browser, then try admin admin.

I have also just copied the entire files folder from an old SS install on top of a new install. It retained all the settings of the old install, including usernames and passwords.

If it still isn't working, I'd just do a uninstall/reinstall with a check to make sure Java is up to date on the new system as well.

That worked. I deleted the Subsonic directory from the newer computer and copied the old one to it's place and was able to log in fine. Thanks for the help.

Now if only the repeating the first song every time can be fixed then a donation would be justified.

I'm pretty comfortable with a donation, just for the desktop app alone. The Android app really makes it a winner. I've tried commercial apps that were junk compared to SS.

I and a few others have sent logs to Sindre regarding the first track repeat. I'm confident he'll find a fix; I know he's aware of it and trying to determine the cause. It's certainly an annoyance, but hardly reason to abandon such a great app. I love being able to stream multi gigabytes of commercial free music anywhere I get a cell signal. Mount the phone on the car dash and send it to the stereo over bluetooth - what could be better?
