Hey everyone I need some help routing my server. I'm at college right now, and I can connect to subsonic perfectly on campus, but when I leave campus the page just times out. Is there anyway to get around the schools routers? I'm trying to get my tunes so I don't have to bring my external hard drive home all the time.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
By the way...awesome program! As soon as i figure this out I'm donating! I love what this thing can do!

Hi.
Go here
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
and click the
"Scan All Common Ports" link on the lower right of the page.
Then, if you find any open ports, try setting up your subsonic to use one of these ports.

I'm guessing that you won't be able to do this unless you have a WAN ip for your place. To use subsonic on a different network you have to forward the ports on your router.
How do you currently connect through the internet on campus?
Do you have a cable modem and router or do you plug in through the existing internet connection? i.e wireless or lan

You're probably not going to be able to properly do this as you don't have access to the necesary things in order to make subsonic work off your campus. What you can try is using something like LogMeIn Free VPN for accessing it from your computer off campus but from your phone is not going to be possible.
