android client: download stalls playback midstream

Since the last update (i.e., last week--I see there is one pending now though which I haven't updated to), I've had a lot of problem getting a decent stream of playback from my server.

It seems to get to a certain point in the first song in the playlist, and then stall. When I pause and press play again, it remains stalled. If I try to go to the next song, it remains stalled.

I thought this might be a server-side issue. I upgraded it to 4.2 (from 4.1), and have the same problem.

I also tried playing the same music/album using the web-based player on a PC, and got none of the stalling, so I've started to think it must be an android client app issue. I have Subsonic 1.8.4 installed on Froyo (2.2.1), on a Google-N1

Could also be android os issue?, as the woes roughly coincide with the last froyo upgrade, also last week.

Anyone else running into this?

Mystery solved?

I think I finally have a clue as to what's going on. [Yes, I just posted my plea, but I've been ruminating about it for the last week!]

I believe it's because my SD card is, like, jammed FULL.

Unfortunately, the client doesn't tell you that this is what's going on, it just stalls. There should probably be some message from subsonic that this is what's going on. (The camera app indicated this to me as soon as I launch it, though possibly subsonic's storage usage could be a bit more dynamic.)

It seems like there used to be a way of deleting the subsonic-cache, but there isn't any more--as far as I can tell you have to manually hunt for the things that you've listened to and delete them from your phone by way of the album view. That's not specifically the problem, but it would be nice if that were still possible (to delete without hunting).
I happen to know, however, that I have a bunch of photos on this pathetically small card that are itching to be offloaded.
