Jukebox won't play some songs

Hi there,

I am having problems playing some of my MP3s via Jukebox player. The one I can reproduce it with is a 320Kbps file. All other files I've tested work fine.
The log says:
WARN JukeboxService - Error in BasicPlayer.play()
javax.sound.sampled.UnsupportedAudioFileException: file is not a supported file type

Subsonic is running on an Windows Home Server

Any ideas on how I can fix it would be great! :)

Thanks,
Mark

Hello,

I was trying to use this feature for the first time yesterday and had the same problems you did. Your post here made me realize that the 320Kbps files was the problem.

I do not have a solution to the problem, but I might have found a workaround. I simply set my max bitrate to 256, and then it seems to work fine for me. So if you are willing to accept the slight decrease in quality this might help you.

Hi,

thanks for the hint. Your workaround works. :D
Maybe we still get a correct solution for the problem - but for now it's OK.

Mark

Settings / Advanced / Downsample command:

Bit-rate, sample rate and channels don't changed:
ffmpeg -loglevel error -v 0 -i %s -f mp3 -acodec copy -map_meta_data 0:0 -

MP3 VBR:
ffmpeg -loglevel error -v 0 -i %s -f mp3 -acodec libmp3lame -ar 44100 -aq 0 -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

MP3 ABR:
ffmpeg -loglevel error -v 0 -i %s -f mp3 -acodec libmp3lame -ar 44100 -ab 320k -ac 2 -map_meta_data 0:0 -

Just set up the Jukebox player to send tunes to a Bose Wave Radio with a Wave Soundlink adapter from SS on Windows Server 2008 R2. Totally awesome setup! No problems encountered so far. Server in the basement pipes the music up to the radio in the kitchen with crystal clear sound. Just set up a play list and blast away. :D
