Subsonic Forum

Hi,
I recently donated and choose to stay with subsonic for a while. So now I am trying to optimize it for me.
It is sometimes really slow, mostly when I login for the first time (in my home network) and when I am trying to get to the homepage with the coverview.

I got one directory with singles which is extremly slow while loading, maybe thats the reason for slowing down the cover view?

I am using 4.3.beta1 (build 2044) – 30. Dezember 2010 on Windows 7

These are my stats:
1.417 Artist
1.371 Albums
14.959 Songs
81,03 GB (~ 1.258 Stunden)

The files are stored on a NAS (Buffalo Terastaion).

Does anyone have tips how to improve the speed?

I've seen many posts related to poor performance when the music is stored on a NAS device. I'm not sure if there is a common cure, but I do know that Subsonic works best when the music is stored on a local hard drive installed on the same computer that is used to host the server.

I've also not had any success trying to use a mapped network drive.

sadly this is not an option as there is not enough free space on my hd, so I would appreciate if there is a solution

The folder is entered in the following way: \\HD-HTGL21B\share\Musik

If the nas has a x86 CPU, maybe you can run subsonic on the nas itself. See projects "freeNAS" and "unRAID" for that.
