Having trouble getting Androig app to load playlists

Postby rkheitmann » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:33 pm

I have my server set up using a Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 4 RNDU4000 to store my MP3's.
When trying to connect via Android app, the connection times out. It shows the artist lists and the the playlist names. When trying to load the playlists it will time out. Do you think it might be the NAS? I was using a DLINK NAS and I read that was an issue so I moved the MP3's to the Netgear and it got me this far...
Also, I'm running windows7. I have a playlist with almost 900 entries. I can access the demo site OK. I broke up my MP3 folders so there are under 20GB in each folder. What could I be missing?

I think I have it working now.

I copied all my MP3's off the NAS and placed them on the local hard drive and it is now working well. So, I guess you will have to keep the MP3's local for subsonic to work. I'm sure this is being looked at and will perhaps be addressed in future versions of subsonic.

I'm not so sure. I know of one site that uses a NAS with pretty good results, but I can't get SS to recognize network shares or mapped drives with my 3 SS servers. 2 are on Windows Server 2008 code based systems and one on WHS (Server 2003) with the music stored on local drives. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but I sure don't know the secret, if there is one. There are also a lot of posts that refer to problems with music stored on a NAS.
