Can stream on Wi-Fi but not on Verizon 3G

I have installed Subsonic on my WHS and have tested the domain name and everything is working fine. I have also been able to stream my music to my work PC via the web browser. I have downloaded the Android app to my Droid phone and while I'm at home on my Wi-Fi connection the Droid will stream just fine. But when I'm on 3G it only gives me a network error trying to connect to the server. Even to the Demo server. I tried the Android browser on my Droid and even though I can get to the Subsonic's home webpage (Subsonic.org), when I try to directly enter my domain name or the IP address (copied from my work pc browser address field) into the Droid browser it cannot connect. Has anyone experienced not being able to connect through Verizon for any reason? Do they have it blocked? I do have Android 2.2 w/ flash.

I can confirm that Verizon isn't blocking anything. I've got the same setup as you (Subsonic running on WHS) and I didn't have to do anything special to get it to work on my 2.2 Droid Incredible. I did knock the stream rate down to 128kbps but it doesn't sound like you're getting far enough for that to be an issue.

What port are you using? Canyouseeme.org responds to your chosen port?

After some more investigation I have found that I can stream just fine from a web browser at work as well as my friends house and my parents (all different ISP providers) so I do know that streaming works. Also, a friend of mine that is on AT&T network is able to stream as well. Here is something I found out too, I was able to stream from the Demo server now on my Droid so now it seems to be narrowed down to just my server. I don't know why it wouldn't stream from the Demo server earlier. I'm using port 9898. Also, I had another friend of mine that is also on Verizon with an Incredible and he tried and could not connect to my server. Any suggestions? Thanks.

When remote(phone), is your server (on the phone) entered as username.subsonic.org?

Yes, it is. I also have tried using the IP address that my username.subsonic.org resolves to into my phones web browser thinking it might be related to DNS resolution but to no avail.
Would it be worth trying a different port?

It appears to have been a Verizon hiccup on his chosen port. A port change resolved it.

Yes, thanks to Alphawave working with me we decided to change the port and it is working perfectly now. Port 4040 worked. Kudos to Alphawave and the others that helped on this post. For those on Verizon it appears that their network does not like port 9898. Beware. It would be me to pick a port that would have problems.
