Transcoding disable in LAN leaves me with no video

Postby yoni5002 » Thu Jan 20, 2011 9:48 am

Hi all,

I have this issue with SS that it is driving me crazy. I'm trying to disable transcoding so I can play .mp4 Blu-Ray rips in my LAN at full HD. Unfortunately whenever I disable the transcoding mp4 > flv option for my player I end up with absolutely no video or audio output. The player stays spinning like buffering but I never get the movie on the fly as I expected to.

Is it there any specific setting that I should be looking at? I'm running SS in Windows Server 2008 Enterprise if that information is of any value whatsoever.

I can stream videos in my LAN if transcoding is enabled for the player :?

Never mind, I finally figured it out. It was a browser issue...

SS is getting better every time and I can certainly appreciate the hard work put into the development of this fine streaming media application. I haven't been able to find another one out there as of today as powerful yet simple as SS.

I'll donate again and gift the new license to a friend. Good software deserves to be paid and Subsonic is obviously not the exception. Thank you for making SS free for those that can't afford to donate for whatever reason.

What was the browser issue exactly? Which browser and how did you fix it? I use Firefox on a Mac, and on Windows typically for playing, and I'm troubleshooting some problems with video myself. Please share specifics.

Thanks.

I've been using Chrome for my SS desktop playback for a few months now. Really clean looking interface and no problems so far. Great frontend.
