I get the error:

Video not found or access denied:
/stream?pathUtf8Hex=2f6d656469612f66696c65732f566964656f732f31303030305f42432e6d7034&maxBitRate=1000&timeOffset=0&player=3

It does not happen for all the MP4's, but the majority. All of my videos are in the same directory. I don't seem to have any issues with avi's either.

I believe it has something to do with the transcoder. Is there a way to have it use a different transcoder like mencoder?

I researched that already and modified the transcoder page and it did not work. In fact, after I modified the MP4 to FLV none of the MP4 worked.

I have attempted to change the parameters and ffmpeg will not go from 6 to 2 channels. I tried to use the terminal and use ffmpeg to modify the file and it did not work either.
I was able to use mencoder in the terminal to change the file from 6 to 2 channels however, I don't want to have to modify every file I have like this to get it to work.

Is there a way to use mencoder instead of or with ffmpeg?

Am I just missing something?

Using the line you presented looks like this in the log file:

There is only a black screen no sound, nothing. When I change 'step one' to the file which is presented none of the mp4 work. The transcoding piece doen't even get started.

Before the modification, none mp4 files which are 5.1 do not work.

I am going crazy over here. Thank you for your assistance with this it is greatly appreciated.

For MP4, M4V, M4A just uncheck transcoding - scroll right after Step 3, uncheck Default and Enabled boxes and click Save.

I wish it were that easy. I tried that before and I did do it again since you suggested it, but the video just displays a black screen no sound.

Is there development for Subsonic to be a DNLA server or to have that capability?

I do thank you for your assistance, but none of the recommendations you made worked. I can't play any MP4's.

Are there any others with this issue?
