4.4 beta 1 - Flash keeps crashing when playing a song

Postby kestep » Wed Jan 26, 2011 5:53 pm

Just installed 4.4 beta 1 and EVERYTHING other than the actual playing of the music is working just fine. The service is running and stays running on the server, so it's not related to the service not staying "up".

Here's the log file from the server:

I tried running CCleaner to clear the browser cache, reinstalling Adobe Flash plugin, stopping / starting the subsonic service and I am still having the issue. I have been unable to successfully play a song since the install. Anyone else having the issue?

Fix -- replace "jw-player-5.4.swf"

Postby kestep » Wed Jan 26, 2011 6:12 pm

After some basic troubleshooting, I was able to determine what the issue was. I downloaded the newest version of the JW Player plugin http://www.longtailvideo.com/jw/upload/mediaplayer.zip and replaced the jw-player-5.4.swf in the "C:\subsonic\jetty\2132\webapp\flash" folder with the downloaded one (player.swf).

I found the fix after some basic troubleshooting. I am not sure exactly WHY this fix worked (maybe the "jw-player-5.4.swf" file is modified with each release??) but it is working now. Any ideas why this worked?[/url]

Just renamed "player.swf" to "jw-player-5.4.swf" in SS installation. Delete browser cache...
