Hello all...new to this software and I was wondering what software can be used with this server to stream video to the iPhone...music is working great using iSub.

Also, is there a guide that describes ALL of the settings for the server..like what is the Playlist Folder for (do playlists have to be manually created or is this for iTunes playlists etc etc)...the Players tab, what is this? Are a lot of these features\settings independent of, say iSub on the iPhone...

The current version of the iphone app iSub does not support video streaming. The developer is working to get that done in the future as far as apple's ridiculous restriction allow. So unfortunately no luck with video there. But it does all your music, audio of any kind and podcasts very well.

There is a separate forum for iSub related issues that you can check out at:
http://www.isubapp.com/forum

Try the tutorials section or do a search for other stuff. You will most likely get your answer in the forum. What OS are you running?

WinXP for now unfortunately...I just would like a detailed explanation of all the features in the server but can't find one...

As for the video streaming it would be nice if iSub supported it eventually but as it doesn't is there any other app that can be used w/ the Subsonic server for video streaming to the iPhone? (I'm using Air Video now which is awesome, but using just one server would be nice).

There are a number of howto articles in the tutorials section of the forum:
http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=6

Then there is the FAQs section here: http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=7

And just post any other questions out on the help section here and you will get answers for most things. The best thing though is to play around with the SS system and find out what is what. Most things are relatively straight forward.

I am afraid i don't know of any iphone app that will stream videos from SS. The problem is the iphone and their makers Apple not playing by the rules of fair play and making their device very awkward to develop apps for. But who knows what might come out in the future....
