I assume Subsonic is trying to ppopulate iSub with all the track information I have, however it is having issue with special characters:

[2011-02-08 10:10:24,126] WARN FileUtil - Failed to list children for /media/Personal/Iains Music/iTunes Music/Compilations/Ministry of Sound_ Anthems II (disc 2)/10 Caf del Mar.mp3

like the ï and é

Anyway round theses issues?

UPDATE:
It doesn't even show these tracks correctly in Subsonic web administration.

iSub will not load the list of tracks for an album that has a song with a special character in the name.

Subsonic will load the tracks, but it will not play that song with a special character in it.

*bump*

I have seen people mention setting the locale of the system, I have tried this but it didn't change anything. Any other suggestions?

I'm thinking the answer to our problem lies within this thread:

I, however, am running subsonic on a NAS so I'm not sure exactly where the files are that need to be edited.

Let me know how it goes.

[SOLVED] Subsonic error

I solved my issue.

The problem for me was that I am running Subsonic on a Ubuntu box, and my music is all on FreeNAS box. So I would mount the remote shares on my Ubuntu box, and point my Subsonic at the mounted folder.

I wasn't mounting the shares correctly, I had to specify the iocharset and codepage.
