4.3 to 4.4 (not beta) upgrade problem

I just upgraded to version 4.4 from 4.3, and now my Subsonic server will not work (worked great before the ug). The icon remains red on the toolbar, and when i go to the control panel, the service status reads: "Could not get status". I cannot seem to start the service.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Erik

Hi Erik,
I found that the 4.4 upgrade reset the log on settings for the Subsonic service back to the default, which is local service account. You may want to review the settings through services.msc to see what they are. This prevented my SS from accessing network shares until I reset the account to user account with access to the shares. You can also try to do a resart from the services menus.
Click start, type Services. Find the Subsonic service. Right click and select properties to see the menu options. Log On tab allows you to change account to a user account with access priviledges to user shares on the network.
Start and stop buttons are on the General Tab.
If all else fails, a good ol' reboot never hurts.

This is strange- Subsonic is not showing up under services. I know it should be there... I also went to "Start Subsonic Service" in my programs, and it just quickly flashes a DOS window on the screen (I can't tell what it tries to run).
Ideas?
Thanks,
Erik

When I type the following:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Subsonic>subsonic-service.exe -start
I get the following message:
Could not start service. Error code: 1060
This appears to be the problem. Not sure how to fix it.

Go to
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools
Select the "Services" shortcut. Find the Subsonic service, double click to bring up the properties screen. try a Stop/Start from there. Startup type should be "Automatic."
Check the Log On tab. If you only use local files on you system (as opposed to files on a network share or drive) use the Loacal system account. Let us know what that does.

As I mentioned, Subsonic does not show up under services. This happens when I access services by entering "services.msc" or by using the control panel > Administrative Tools.
And...
When I try to start the service by typing the following:
"subsonic-service.exe -start "
I get the following message:
Could not start service. Error code: 1060
So, I guess this issue needs to be resolved before the Subsonic will show up under services.
Thanks,
Erik

Sounds like the service didn't install properly. You could try running the installer again, if that fails you probably need to do an uninstall/reinstall. I'd do it for both Java and SS if need be.
