I purchased an e3000 linksys router with built in USB support. I have the network drive mapped out to my computer but unfortunately sub sonic will not recognize the drive is there. It will not recognize to something as simple as z:\ or \\routername\network drive\music
Any suggestions. Both are correct address above since I just type that into explorer and I have my music directory. I have googled this topic and only found one semi helpful thread. It said to go to admin tool, give permissions to subsonic, did that still no go : (
Anyways the external hard drive is connected to the router. I want sub sonic to see it, how do i get this happening?
Thank you!! and btw what a sweet program!

Edit the log on for the Subsonic service. There is a section in the link above that details the steps.

Ok I will get around to doing that thanks!
As far as putting in the music directory?
Should I just put in the networked mapped drive location (z:\)
or the actual network location
\\routername\network drive\music

It still cannot see it with just z:\music
When I first log onto my computer and when I access the remote drive, it asks for the username and password. I enter those in (the accounts are managed in the router) I am then in the drive.
From there I go to subsonic and set up music folders. I enter z:\music. Save and refresh and nothing. Still says no music folders found.
I have done the computer management option so that is not working. I am on an administrative account. Any suggestions?
Again the hard drive is running from my router, not another desktop.
Do I have to incorporate the username and password that is required to access the drive in the directory location in subsonic?

I use the network share name, but I think either should work. I tjink I've tried both even though now I think most of my folder names are the network share variety.
I'll double chech the mapped drive option.

I'm using \\servername\music or \\IP Address\music to stream from my Synolgy NAS. I am also running the subsonic service under a local user account and not system account. Maybe try and change the service to use an account that has access to that UNC path.
