Android player not scrobbling

I've been using Subsonic for a long time, and I've realized that it's never scrobbled my music. I've had the Last.fm app installed for a long time. For grins, I installed PowerAMP and it scrobbled just fine.

Is there a trick to get the Subsonic client to send updates to the official Last.fm app for scrobbling? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? Thanks in advance.

FYI, I'm on a Motorola Droid 1 running Bugless Beast 0.6.2.1. The problem existed on various Sapphire versions as well.

The subsonic app does not use the official last.fm client installed on your device to scrobble. You need to enter your last.fm credentials on the server you are connecting to so it can scrobble on the server side.

Log into the web interface and go to your settings and enter your last.fm credentials there.

I'm having the same issue. I am using the android subsonic app on my nexus s and I have set my last.fm credentials in the web interface but nothing is being scrobbled from the app.

If I play something from the web interface, it does scrobble. Just not via the android app.

Am I missing anything?

What version of the subsonic server are you running?

4.4 (build 2169) – February 6, 2011

And the Android App version is 2.6, the latest from the sorceforge website.

4.4 disables scrobbling for REST based players.

Thank you for your response.

Is the Android app being updated to reflect this change?

Who can I contact to have this rectified in the Android App?

Okay, thanks for the explanation. I like the concept of this change since I think the client should be in charge of scrobbling - I remember reading complaints about scrobbling based on downloads. I assume we'll see it added to the official Android client soon enough.
