SubSonic streamed to phone, now won't. After registering.

Postby tbrown4 » Sat Feb 26, 2011 4:37 pm

I began using SubSonic a little of a month ago. Once I got the server software set up and configured on my PC it worked like a dream. My wife and I were both able to access our home music collection from our HTC Incredible phones over WiFi and 3G will little issue.

We decided to go ahead and donate to support the developers and to register our license. Just after doing so, we've both been getting generic error "A network error occurred".

We've updated the software on our phones and on our PC. We've changed no settings on either. I've searched the forum here and come up empty handed. I'm sitting down today determined to get this resolved.

Can anyone offer some help or guidance here?

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

There are a couple of things that could have occurred. First, how are you defining the site parameters on your phones? Are you using servername.subsonic.org, or are you using your externaslIP:port# ?

In the Subsonic webpage on the Settings/Network screen, are you manually or automatically configuring the router and do you have the subsonic.org address option enabled?

Also feel free to test yout phone on my public site to be sure it's not a phone issue, which I agree is not likely.

Also, did you get the email response with the License key after you made the donation?

To install the license, click the "Donate" link in the top right corner of the Subsonic web interface.

SS can no longer find your port open. Check your router to ensure your port is still open, and then check with canyouseeme.org (enter your port number) to ensure it's visible externally. :)

Thanks for the reply.

I am using xxxxxxx.subsonic.org and have it entered in to the SubSonic settings on my phone.

I have tried both, manually and automatically configuring the router settings. I do have the subsonic.org address enabled.

That's kind of what I figured it was, but can't seem to fix it. Let me try that site to see if the port is visible. Thanks for the tip.
