subsonic just stopped working.

Hey all,

So I thought it was some server problem on subsonic's end because of that thread earlier where people were saying it was down. Mine went "down" around the same time.

What made me think that this was the problem is because my subsonic was working just fine with no problems until it just stopped working one day. I did not change any settings on my end whatsoever which is the perplexing part.

I was connecting via the XXXX.subsonic.org donation address, through both my android phone and through the browser elsewhere, which when I check it now I get the "registered but cannot connect" error.

I would really appreciate if someone could walk me through how to get this set up so I can use subsonic once again.

I CAN connect to subsonic.org which I was told this means subsonic is fine on their end and it is something going on over here.

Subsonic computer:
OSX 10.6.6
Mac Mini
Actiontec Q1000 DSL modem/router combo unit.

Connecting via Nexus One (android), or just an external browser.

The Actiontec q1000 has a few other computers, a ps3, and some NAS drives also attached to it.

My external IP when I go to whatismyip.com is a 174.xx address.
I can find my local IP, which I guess dynamically changes via DHCP every once in a while (set for an hour on the router as far as I can see).

I have registered a DynDNS account if this is helpful, but from here I am lost as to where to go or what to do. I would realllly love to use this service again!

Please let me know what specifics you need, and thank you for your help.

well per usual this forum is useless.

Thought I'd pop in and say for anyone on a Mac having trouble with ports and whatnot, Lighthouse for Mac works beautifully. It does cost money but worth it imo for the lack of future headaches.

Glad to hear how pleased you are with the forum. As someone that answers an average of 6 posts per day, I really appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, not every post gets a response for various reasons. In your case, I did not respond to your post because I do not use a Mac and I am not qualified to answer posts regarding your platform. Rereading your post, however, leads me to suspect that your issues could have been solved rather easily by reading many of the posts that are related to your problem.

I have no idea why others may not have responded to your post, but oftentimes others feel the issue has been sufficiently covered and can be fixed by reading information that is already available on the forum. A little bit of self-help goes a long way.
